I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist who draws on humanistic, psychodynamic, relational and CBT perspectives to discover the best way to work with your difficulties. I am accredited by UKCP. I am also registered with BACP, the largest counselling and therapy validating body in the UK, and am bound by its rules and ethics. I hold a first class degree in psychology, a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, and a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy.
My experience is in the NHS and charity settings such as Samaritans, Cruse and Mind. I have worked with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties both gay and straight, trauma, self-harming and suicidal ideation.
It is common for present life difficulties to originate in childhood, family and other dynamics. We might therefore spend time exploring what went wrong when you were growing up, and how this influenced your development, your relationships with others as an adult. On the other hand, I am well able to work short-term, having done time-limited work with patients in NHS settings. If your problem is one that can be sorted out in, say, six to ten sessions, then that too is a service I can offer.
I work in English, but can also work in French and German. I worked previously in language teaching and teacher training and development.
